You then travel through the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi N’Tichka Pass, visiting the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou and Ouarzazate before reaching the scenic Dades Valley. The adventure proceeds through the dramatic Todra Gorges and into the Sahara Desert at Merzouga, where you enjoy a sunset camel trek, luxury desert camping, traditional entertainment, and a night under the stars.

After a sunrise experience in the desert, the journey continues through the Ziz Valley and Ifrane towards Fes for a guided exploration of its historic Medina, cultural landmarks, and traditional souks. The tour then takes you to the picturesque blue city of Chefchaouen, where you explore its charming streets and Andalusian-style architecture before returning to Marrakech. The trip concludes with a transfer to the airport, completing an immersive experience through Morocco’s culture, landscapes, and imperial cities.

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Welcome to Morocco! Your 10-day adventure begins with a seamless pickup from the Marrakech airport. We will take a short, scenic drive through the bustling city to your accommodation, where you will spend your first night relaxing in the authentic charm of a traditional Moroccan riad.

Day 2: Marrakech – Essaouira

After breakfast, we travel west toward the Atlantic coast to discover the beautiful town of Essaouira. Along the way, we will stop at a local Argan oil cooperative to observe the traditional production of this famous oil—and you may even spot the region’s famous tree-climbing goats! Upon arriving in Essaouira, historically known as Mogador, you will have ample free time to independently explore its historic fishing port, wander through the vibrant old medina, and walk along the ancient sea walls lined with historic cannons.

Day 3: Essaouira – Marrakech Guided Tour

We return to Marrakech today for a comprehensive guided tour of the city’s most iconic landmarks. You will explore the spectacular 19th-century Bahia Palace and the breathtaking Ben Youssef Madrasa, renowned for its intricate Islamic architecture. Your guided walk continues through the lively, colorful souks of the Medina, ultimately concluding at the energetic Jamaa El Fna Square and the towering landmark of the Koutoubia Mosque.

Day 4: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley

Departing Marrakech, our journey takes us soaring over the High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n Tichka pass, with designated stops to capture photos of picturesque Berber villages and dramatic mountain peaks. We will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a magnificent fortified village famous as a filming location for cinematic masterpieces like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Following lunch in the city of Ouarzazate, we will enjoy a scenic drive through the lush Skoura palm groves and the fragrant Rose Valley before checking into our comfortable hotel in Boumalne Dades.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Sahara – Luxury Camp

Our expedition continues toward the Sahara Desert. We will make a stop at the magnificent Todra Gorges, a massive canyon featuring towering red limestone cliffs where you can take a peaceful walk along the riverbank. Passing through the verdant palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, we will finally arrive at the awe-inspiring Merzouga dunes. From here, you will embark on a traditional camel trek across the golden sands to witness a breathtaking desert sunset. Your night will be spent at a magnificent luxury desert camp, complete with a delicious dinner and the enchanting sounds of traditional Berber music around a crackling campfire.

Day 6: Merzouga Region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga Lake

Waking up early to witness a magical desert sunrise is an absolute must-do highlight of this trip. After a hearty breakfast, we will set out to explore the broader Merzouga region in a 4×4 vehicle. We will visit an ancient mine and have the privilege of meeting local nomadic families in their traditional tents, sharing a cup of tea while learning about their unique way of life. Next, we will visit the village of Khamlia to experience a live performance of spiritual Gnaoua music by locals with sub-Saharan heritage. Later in the day, we will visit the seasonal Merzouga lake and a beautiful local palm grove before checking into a serene riad situated near the edge of the dunes.

Day 7: Merzouga – Erfoud – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Fes

Bidding farewell to the desert, our first stop is the town of Rissani to explore its vibrant and traditional market. Continuing to Erfoud, we will visit a local fossil workshop to witness how ancient, fossil-rich marble is expertly crafted. Our scenic drive then winds through the picturesque Ziz Valley, stopping for a relaxing lunch in the town of Midelt. As we continue our route, we will pass through the majestic Middle Atlas cedar forests, offering a fantastic opportunity to see wild Barbary Macaque monkeys in their natural habitat. Following a brief stop in the charming alpine town of Ifrane—often called the “Switzerland of Morocco”—we will arrive in the historic city of Fes for the evening.

Day 8: Fes Guided Sightseeing Tour

Today is completely dedicated to exploring the rich heritage of Fes, the undisputed cultural capital of Morocco. Your guided tour begins with a drive to the ornate Royal Palace Gate and a stroll through the Mellah, the historic Jewish Quarter. We will visit a local ceramic school to admire traditional craftsmanship and take in breathtaking panoramic views of the city from the Borj Sud fortress. Afterward, we will delve into the maze-like medieval Medina—a designated UNESCO site—where you will see the world’s oldest operating educational institution, the Al Quaraouiyine University, and marvel at the famous, vibrant Chouara Tanneries.

Day 9: Fes – Meknes – Volubilis Ruins – Chefchaouen

Leaving Fes, we travel to the imperial city of Meknes to admire the grand Bab Al Mansour gate and explore the historic Royal Stables. Next, we journey to the nearby Roman ruins of Volubilis, a sprawling archaeological site home to beautifully preserved mosaics and grand ancient arches. The drive then takes us north, winding through the mountains toward Chefchaouen, Morocco’s famous “Blue City.” You will have the entire evening at your leisure to wander through its iconic, blue-washed alleyways and relax in your comfortable local riad.

Day 10: Chefchaouen – Tangier Airport Transfer

On your final day, we will embark on a scenic drive through the lush landscapes of the Rif Mountains toward Tangier. Depending entirely on your specific flight schedule, you can choose to spend a little more time soaking in the blue alleys of Chefchaouen, or opt for a quick, introductory tour of Tangier before we provide a seamless drop-off at the airport for your departure.
