MORNING: MARRAKECH -> ARGAN COOPERATIVE -> ESSAOUIRA
We pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech and drive west across the plains towards the coast. Along the way we stop at a women’s argan oil cooperative, where you can see the traditional process from nut to oil and browse the cosmetic and culinary products.
Continuing on, the landscape opens towards the Atlantic and we reach Essaouira by late morning.
MIDDAY: ESSAOUIRA MEDINA & RAMPARTS
A walk through the walled medina takes in the main thoroughfares, the small squares, and the artisan workshops known for thuya woodwork. From the Skala de la Ville — the sea-facing ramparts lined with old bronze cannons — there are views along the coast and out over the waves. The fishing harbour nearby is worth the time: blue wooden boats, gulls, and the day’s catch laid out on the quay.
AFTERNOON: FREE TIME -> MARRAKECH
Lunch is grilled fish by the port or a restaurant in the medina (not included). The afternoon is free to browse the shops, walk on the wide beach, or sit at a café before we begin the drive back to Marrakech, arriving in the evening.
