DAY 1: MARRAKECH -> HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS -> MERZOUGA DESERT
Your two day desert tour starts with an early pick-up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. Leaving the city behind, the road climbs into the High Atlas, with stops along the way to take in the mountain scenery. After a lunch break en route, the drive continues east across the pre-desert to Merzouga.
By late afternoon your camels are waiting to carry you into the Erg Chebbi dunes. You’ll pause on a high ridge to watch the sun go down over the sand, then ride on to your camp, where a private tent is ready for you. After settling in, there’s dinner and an evening around the campfire with drumming and Berber songs, the stars overhead.

DAY 2: MERZOUGA DESERT -> AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH -> MARRAKECH
An early start is worth it for the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, a 4×4 brings you back from the camp to the village of Merzouga, and from there the drive heads west towards Marrakech, with several stops along the way including a break for lunch.
The main stop is the viewpoint over Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed fortified village and one of the most filmed locations in Morocco — among the productions shot here are Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones.
